Description
The G1 is a 3 finger 5mm diving mitten making it suitable for diving in colder waters. Mittens are warmer than gloves both on land and in water, by “grouping” 3 fingers into 1 “neoprene pouch” the fingers share warmth and also are less restricted encouraging more warm blood to flow from the core.
The split allows the forefinger / index finger to be seperated which provides for a good grip with the thumb and thus can be used to grip to clear a mask for example or inflate a drysuit. These mittensallow the diver considerable dexterity while providing a lot of warmth.
Hypothermia vs Gloves.
The body reacts to cold and heat by adjusting the blood stream to the external parts of the body, like hands, fingers and feet. “White Fingers” is a common condition and a proof for this ability to direct the blood flow.
